This summer we decided to spend a few days in the Julian Alps in Slovenia, using the beautiful village of Stara Fužina — just a few minutes' walk from Lake Bohinj — as our base. During our June stay in Slovenia, we were based in the beautiful village of Stara Fužina near Lake Bohinj, where we explored several hiking trails recommended by the owners of our guesthouse. One of the first was the popular Mount Vogel hike. It begins with a cable car ride up to the top station Rjava Skala, from where it leads through successive peaks: Orlova Glava (1,682 m), Šija (1,880 m), and Vogel (1,922 m).
